Sport Fishing Chaters from Flamingo Bay and Tamarindo, Costa Rica

FLAMINGO BAY

We are currently operating our fishing trips from Flamingo Bay, like Tamarindo, Playa Flamingo is also in Guanacaste province, on the north pacific coast of Costa Rica.  It is smaller and more residential than Tamarindo and might appeal better to those who would like a quiet getaway rather than nightlife. Flamingo offers a range of luxury hotels and condos and also has a superb, unspoiled beach.  The same  excellent deep sea fishing can be found off Flamingo Bay. Marlin, tuna, snapper  and swordfish can be found off the coast all year round.  Besides offering a wide choice of water sports, Flamingo is close to the Santa Rosa National Park and the Palo Verde nature reserve.

TAMARINDO

We also run fishing trips from Tamarindo, which has long been established as one of the most popular locations in Costa Rica for blue water fishing. Blue marlin, sailfish, yelllowfin tuna among others can be found offshore. However, Tamarindo has many other attractions also, such as year round surfing, snorkeling, diving, kayaking and nearby nature reserves. Bicycles, surfboards and equipment of all types can be rented from local speciality shops. There is an excellent choice of accommodation, from budget to luxury as well as a variety of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and craft shops. With its mixture of water sports, fishing, nightlife and beaches Tamarindo has something for all ages.

Tamarindo's climate has two seasons: dry and rainy. The dry season, from November to April is dry, hot and sunny. The humidity is very low and comfortable. The rainy season begins in April or early May and continues through to October. However, Tamarindo is one of the driest areas in Costra Rica and is labelled as a 'tropical dry forest', the only one of this type in Central America. This means that it does not experience the kind of wet season usually experienced in a tropical area

The international airport in Liberia, Guanacaste is just 45 minutes from Tamarindo. There is also a local airport in Tamarindo, which is serviced 7 days a week from San Jose. In addition, there are scheduled daily bus services to and from San José.
